Section Begins...
The Triumph Metisse frame, bashed, battered and repaired for over 40 years had finally given up the fight. As we were waiting to go into yet another section Bob Miles got off the bike, pointed and mumbled something. I got out the chair, walked round, looked and mumbled something as well. It was a good job we never attempted the section as the result would have been spectacular to watch!
The front down tubes had been repaired before, but this time they had parted company immediately below the headstock. We now had a long wheelbase frame with ultra-low-slung engine and chopper raked forks. A sad end... but not quite.
She's rising from the ashes, the engine (half of which is discarded on the workshop floor) is two thirds through a total rebuild and we are now in possession of another frame.
We'll be back!
